Notes to the Problems of Scientific and Research Activities of the Agricultural Universities in relation to The Czechoslovak Academy of Agricultural Science and to The Czechoslovak Academy of Science (1953 - 1963)

In 1952-1963 the development of the agricultural universities was influenced by a lot of reorganizations.The administrative, bureaucratic and centralistic forms dominated in the methods, organizing and management of the scientific and research activities. In 1962 The Czech. Academy of Agricultural Science caesed to exist and the management of the applied research was administered in The Ministry of Agriculture. The priority of the basic research in the agricultural universities was given by The Czech. Academy of Science on the biological, economical and technical disciplines.

The leading representatives of Czech biology I. Málek, M. Hašek and F. Herčík abandoned their support for Lyssenkoism to the end of the fifties. The change was perceived as very hard namely by I. Málek, who published many apologetic books and papers at the time. Elder geneticists J. Kříženecký and B. Sekla confirmed their negative approach to Lyssenkoism, while the president of Czechoslovak Agricultural Academy defended Mitchurinist biology as a for the practice favorable doctrine and discipline.

On this research were very participated CAS institutions and its result was an unique list of ethnogrphic, historcal, geological and natural historical materal.

The work is summarize the basic features of edition activity CAS (Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences), the main possibilities for presentation of research working and its direction. But NCSAV didi not have any monopoly for publishing scientific literature. It was commit to the predecessorsŽ activities. As in the published works of the basic research (for instance series CSAV Talks), but also orientated to the popular science works. The study is parsing also the periodical production, which has been changing. Also was sketched the fees policy.

Czechoslovak/Mongolian archeology expedition in 1958 was the first action on its extend in CSR at all. Institute of Archeology Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences sent to Mongolia high experts at the head of L. Jisl, who executed besides the excavations also ethnographic palaeogic and anthropological research. Results were very high appreciated by inland as well as external experts and it confirmed the prestige of Czechoslovak science. The pursuit of expedition by next years was grounded by organizations barriers.
